Discover the area in which you move? Bringing Glarus Alpine history to life – this is the goal of the Alpine Museum team. Because the Glarus region was right in the middle of it instead of just being there. The first SAC hut in Switzerland is located in the Glarus region, the Grünhornhütte (today it is a small museum at 2448 m above sea level). The Tödi-Clariden area was designated as the first excursion area of SAC Switzerland. SAC Tödi was one of the founding sections of SAC Switzerland. The Glarus region has the first mountain guide association in Switzerland. And there is even more to discover – namely 300 million years of rock history.
