Visit the Museum of the State of Glarus in the Freuler Palace
The Freuler Palace is one of the most magnificent Swiss residential buildings of the 17th century. The builder of this magnificent palace was Kaspar Freuler (around 1595-1651) from Näfels. The Museum of the State of Glarus is the historical museum of the Canton of Glarus, which has been located in the Freuler Palace since 1946. It presents Glarus history and culture from its beginnings to the present day. The focus is on the exhibition chapters on the cultural history of Glarus and textile printing. Seasonal temporary exhibitions delve deeper into various aspects of the history and culture of the Canton of Glarus.
